1. Sort It as You Go
Designate separate hampers or laundry baskets for lights, darks, delicates, beach/pool gear, etc. Each basket has like items, which will wash in the same temperatures and on the same cycles. No need to stop and separate the items all at once. With the sorting already done all you need to do is put each load in and wash it.
2. Treat Stains Immediately
Stains are easiest to remove if you pretreat the items. The ideal way to remove stains is to treat them as soon as they happen. Even if it is just scraping off and dabbing with a wet cloth, remove as much of the stain as possible. Treat it with a stain remover before tossing into the hamper. If you have not pretreated the stain prior to laundry day, be sure to treat the stain with stain remover before tossing it into the washer.
If they stain did not come out, do NOT put the item in the dryer. Heat sets stains. Treat the stain again and run it through another wash cycle.
